Last week my Mom gave me these really neat tea towels originally given to my great-great-grandmother from her sister in law. My Grandmother included a note explaining that her great aunt would embroider and cross stitch tea towels, aprons and the like on flour sacks and feed sacks then give them as gifts. I love the note as much as the towels! She included each woman’s name and a little background which makes these even more precious and relevant.

The kitten towels are especially cool because they were done during world war II and are pretty evident of the time and the support for the war effort…in stark contrast to today. I’m contemplating using them to create kitchen curtains, a table runner and maybe an apron or two. I love the condition and look forward to finding some complimentary fabrics.
